Cowboy Up!

How many kids get a pony for their birthday! A long time ago (two whole months), I got a pony from my Great Auntie Bridget and Great Uncle Bruce.

Tachi was very afraid...especially when it talked.

Since I've been doing so good with my head control (the fact that it's so much smaller than my body makes it easier), daddy decided to let me take a quick ride. I hopped on, grabbed Mr. Pony's ears, and off we went!
Sorry for drooling on your mane Mr. Pony.

I'm 2 Months Old!

Yay, I'm 2 months old today! To celebrate mommy and daddy took me to get shots. :( Happy birthday to me (not).

I had my 2 month well baby visit today. This time daddy came too so he could hold my hand when I got the shots. (That's what we're telling everyone, but really he came to hold mommy's hand because she was worried.) I did great with my shots. I only cried a little bit. By the time the nurse put the Tweety Bird bandages on my legs, I practically forgot all about it. I even fell asleep on the way home. See mommy was worried for nothing.

The doctor says I'm doing great and growing really big. Here're my stats:
  • Weight: 13 lbs 11.5 oz (95th percentile)
  • Height: 24.5 in (95th percentile)
  • Head circumference: 39.75 cm (50th percentile)
Daddy's relieved that my head circumference has improved. You can see how much I've grown too. Here's a picture of me at 1 month and one of me at 2 months:

Things I'm starting to do now:
  • Hold my head up, but sometimes I get tired and my head bobs
  • Track the animals on my mobile and coo at them
  • Interact with Mr. Octopus on my play mat
  • Grab mommy's hair, necklace or collar (she really likes it when I grab her hair)
  • Focus on mommy, smile and coo (I focus on other people too, but mostly on women)
Here's a short video of me playing with Mr. Octopus.

My First Kiss...And Now I'm Confused

Today, Uncle Clint and Auntie Joy, daddy's friends from high school came all the way down to visit from Sacramento to show us around Santa Cruz. They also brought their daughter, Adrienne **swoon** Isn't she a cutie!

Daddy and I went to sit on the floor so I could meet Adrienne. She's a bit older, so she came sauntering over and kissed me! Twice! I got so weak in the knees that I just slumped over. I think I'm in love.

We loaded up the swagger wagon and we were off. I had never been to Santa Cruz or seen the ocean, so I was really excited!

We started off at Vasili's for some lunch. Well...they did. I just slept. Even Adrienne got in on the action. Someone better take me back there when I'm older because it smelled really good! Once everyone was done eating, we strolled around downtown and ended up on the wharf. Daddy showed me where he caught his halibut on his bachelor party and I saw where Mommy finished up the last leg of The Relay a couple of years ago. There were also a lot of people out playing volleyball and surfing. It all looked like so much fun! On the way back, we stopped at Marienne's for some ice cream. Man...I am missing out! Everyone thought I slept through most of the day, but I'm slick. I was actually staring at Adrienne all day!

About 7 hours later, we found ourselves back at home, relaxing together. This was the longest that I have ever been out! Mommy and daddy did great! I was warm, dry, and well fed (with boring old milk while everyone else was eating Greek food and ice cream).

Auntie Joy and mommy wanted Adrienne and I to take a picture together. Of course, I jumped at the chance to sit next to the woman of my dreams. Now...here's where it gets weird...and why I'm confused. She sat down next to me, screamed like Xena, and slapped me! This was the girl who was all over me earlier in the day and now she smacks me?

Ky, Matthew - help me out here. What the heck!

Shrinky Dinks

Daddy keeps talking about something called shrinky dinks. I have no idea what those are...but I get the impression that it was something he grew up with.

Anyway...when things say, "do not boil or steam sterilize," you should listen. Daddy didn't and look what happened to my bottles! Three of them look like this! They should look like the one on the right. Mommy finally went out and bought me some new ones (because daddy was too cheap and said they still worked in their shrunken state).

I'll give daddy the benefit of the doubt. It's not like his vision was that good when he did it and the print is pretty small. But...now he has contacts...so there's no excuse!

No more shrunken bottles daddy!

Daddy Tried to Feed Me to Tachi!

Can you believe it?! Daddy tried to feed me to Tachi! I swear he did!

I had just finished my bottle and Mommy was burping me when Daddy came over and smeared some sticky, mushy stuff all over my foot. Whatever it was sure smelled good. Tachi apparently thought so too because he spent the next couple of minutes licking away at my foot!

What a strange feeling.

Hi Team Puppers!

Today was a big day for me! I was going to play volleyball with Team Puppers (Daddy's Wednesday volleyball team). Why are they called Team Puppers? Because both Auntie Grace and Auntie Char volunteer with Pound Puppy Rescue and they used to bring puppies looking for homes to their games. Auntie Sali is not happy because it's been a while since any pups have shown up.

To get ready for my debut, I jumped into the bath to get nice and clean. As usual, Mr. Turtle swam around in the tub to make sure the water was not too hot or too cold. Once he gave me the green light...in I went. Scrub scrub scrub and I was all clean! My stylist (daddy) tried a few new things with my hair (pictures to come) but I opted for my standard "poof."

We met up with Auntie Char in the parking lot and walked to the gym. Eventually, everyone showed up and I got to meet lots of new people. Uncle Royce was warming up with Auntie Grace and a rogue volleyball came flying my way and I saw my life flash before my eyes. This happened twice! Each time, Auntie Grace blamed Uncle Royce and Uncle Royce blamed Auntie Grace. You have to watch out for those two!

This is really embarrassing, but I got so excited watching volleyball that I wet myself. Daddy had to change me and all of his team mates started chanting, "Spray him! Spray him!" These are daddy's friends? Strange.

Pin Head

Do you remember the movie Beetlejuice?

Do you remember this character?

Daddy's worried.
