Are Dogs and Babies are the Same?

One thing that Auntie Christi and daddy agree on is that everything they learned about raising a kid they learned from raising a dog. They both need to be fed, be cleaned up after they pee / poo, bathed, etc. They both thrive on routine and positive reinforcement. They both live in things that have nice names (i.e. crate, crib) but are essentially cages. I'm sure there's more, but my little brain can't think of anything else right now.

When mommy and daddy change Tachi's food from one brand to another, he gets really gassy and his poo gets really squishy, liquidy, and soft. I think the same thing happens when he visits Auntie Michelle or Auntie Char because they feed him all sorts of good stuff that he's not used to (i..e people food). The same thing seems to be happening to me. Mommy and daddy are starting to switch me off of my soy formula to regular cow formula. At first, I wasn't sure I liked it. It tasted kind of weird. Now, I'm getting used to the taste, but I've gone from being a peanut butter poo-er to a diarrhea monster!

Am I like a dog who's eating new food for the first time?

Working on My Awesome Physique!

Whenever I'm hone alone with daddy, he always makes me work out. He says he's getting me ready for adventure racing like he used to do back when he was young. He is pretty old!

My workout regiment starts with vertical pull ups and push ups. What's that? Basically, I stand up and either push myself away from vertical or pull myself back to vertical. After 10 reps of each, I work my obliques.

Now, daddy's making me play cliffhanger, standing up and slinking along a narrow ledge (yes, it's a couch...shhh!). Maybe it's in preparation for rock climbing. Where's my harness?!

OMG! I'm Shrinking!

OMG! I'm shrinking! Two weeks ago, daddy weighed me and measured me and I was 17 pounds and 26 inches. I just got back from my 4 month well visit and now I'm 16 pounds, 13.5 ounces and 25.75 inches! (For those of you who speak percentiles, that's about 80th percentile in height and about 85th percentile in weight.) What the heck!

My doctor says I'm big, strong, and healthy. I hit all of my milestones and mommy and daddy are enrolling me in a program to try and help me kick my drug habit (i.e. no more baby Zantac). We'll see how that goes. She also said I have a flat head!

What are the cute girlies going to think? "Hi, I'm the incredible shrinking, flat headed Logan."

Rollin Like A River

Look! Mommy finally got the video proof that she was trying so hard to get! I was giving her such a hard time. Every time she got the Flip out (plug for daddy's company...he gets 30% off of Flip Video and Linksys products if you're interested), I pretended like I couldn't do it. Finally, I got tired of this game and let her video tape me.

I'm getting good at this too! Daddy was trying to put me down for bed and I flipped over three times before finally tiring myself out and falling asleep...on my stomach.

So when you watch this...tell me if you think it sounds like mommy is talking to Tachi.

Inspiration...

Remember what mommy said about development and inspiration? Well, I took it to heart and worked some magic while mommy and daddy were sleeping.

And just to prove that it wasn't a fluke, I did it again in my play area while mommy was out biking with Auntie Michelle.

Playing at U Me

Today, we met up with the Quonakas at U Me play place in Menlo Park. Everyone figured I'd be a bit young to really enjoy it, but we figured it couldn't hurt. Plus, mommy likes it when I hang out with the older kids. She says it inspires my development. Whatever! They just used me to get in for free (they don't charge if you're under 6 months). I think Uncle Mike is already working on Ky's fake ID.

So what'd we do...

I got to hang out in the mini ball pit. What do I mean by mini? This thing barely fit Ky and myself! I mean...if it were a hot tub and the two of us were in there together...we'd have to touch toes! Yuck! Now...it'd be different if it were me and my girlfriend Adrienne! Did I mention that she came by a week or two ago and I got some hug action?

So I need to explain this before the rumors really start flying. No, it's not payback for when daddy put mommy's headband on me. We were all hanging out in the "crawlers" area when Auntie Christi jumps up and runs off to the corner. She comes back with two pairs of pink antennae and pink fairy wands! I mean she could have chosen the medieval knight costume or something...but no! Fairies! My god! Then she goes running off again and brings back a cape for daddy, but she put in on backwards! OMG! Auntie Christi! What are you doing!

Everyone knows that I love mirrors. Does that make me a bad person?

The highlight of the day was when I got to ride the slide! Swish! Awesome!

Where's My B 2 the O 2 the TTLE?

Just gettin ready to roll out and see my peeps! Thanks to DJ Serene for the cool new threads!

BTW...don't let daddy know that I can talk this way...he HATES it!

Have You Ever...

"Have you ever woken up in the morning, looked to the side of you, and would rather chew off your arm than wake the person next to you?" Sorry guys...I just get movie lines stuck in my head after I watch a movie too many times.

But seriously...have you ever woken up and not known how you got somewhere? It's starting to happen to me and it's really freaking me out!

Normally, I sleep on my back with my head under my mobile, but lately, I've woken up and haven't been able to find my mobile! There's definitely some comfort in waking up in the same place that you went to sleep! One morning, I woke up 180 degrees from where I started! Another morning, I woke up and all I saw were bars!.

Hmm...maybe the better question is who's taking pictures of me while I sleep! It's like big brother is watching!

Iron Man - Wipe Out!

So there's been a lot of talk about my preparation for an Ironman and now you get to see what it's all about! The monkey bars of a stroller that you saw earlier was transformed into the awesomeness you see to the right!

Thanks Auntie Liner (and Auntie Liner's sister who donated my new ride)! Now mommy's motivated to train for the Kona Ironman! Awesome! Everyone can come to cheer her on! It'll be line one huge party!

Speaking of Auntie Liner...be sure to check her out on Wipe Out tonight! You'll see her as Caroline Lee! We're all betting that she won the whole thing...but we'll just have to watch and see! Go Liner!

Chillin' With Uncle Eddie

Uncle Eddie's in town for a few days before he takes off for the East Coast. We've been hangin' out, getting to know each other.

Yesterday, he came to our house on his way back from LA for dinner. We got to spend some quality time before it was my bed time. I even managed to spit up on his t-shirt so he'd remember me.

Today, we had lunch at Pasta Pomodoro in Union City. I stayed awake for the entire meal! Even flirted with the waitress and a couple of ladies at the next table. If I knew Uncle Eddie was going to wear his Giants jersey, I would've worn my matching Giants romper. That would've been really cute, but I didn't the memo in time. Oh well. We're still really cute.

I'm really glad that he was able to visit and spend some time with me! Mommy says I probably won't have many opportunities in the next couple of years because he'll be in the East Coast. Thanks for visiting, Uncle Eddie!

This One's for You Auntie Kelcy!

You asked an you shall receive! Check me out in my European swim wear (courtesy of Kyden)!

And after a good training swim for my upcoming trip to Kona for the Ironman championships, it's important that I get my core body temperature back up. What better way to do that than with a super warm, super soft, blanket made with love! This is awesome! Thank you Auntie Kelcy! I can't believe you made it! You'll have to teach me how to do this some day. Then I can make everyone socks for Christmas!

4th of July Wrap Up!

Man I had a busy weekend! I was so tired after all of the activity, I slept through the night! Wait...that's every night that Mommy and Daddy let the batteries die in the monitor! Hmm...maybe this is all a ploy! If the batteries don't die, then I get my normal 2 am snack. If the batteries die, then I get stuck sucking on my arm until the morning! Anyone else thing that Mommy and Daddy are ignoring me on purpose so they can get more sleep?

Anyway...on Saturday, we took Tachi out to Fort Funston. Ever since I came along, Tachi hasn't gotten to do anything fun. He's also been bumped down a notch on the totem pole so he's been sorta mopey. As a treat, we took him to the beach to play with his other dog friends! What was strange was that about 10 minutes into playing, he just flopped down on the sand! Before I came along, he'd play in the surf for hours! Daddy couldn't decide if Tachi was getting old or if he was just out of shape.

After a long hike up from the beach, we watched some of the hang gliders take off from the bluff and, believe it or not, we spotted 3 macaws in a tree! There were two red ones and a blue one! Daddy said that this was very very strange.

On Sunday, we thought about going to see fireworks with Auntie Sylvia, Uncle Ken, and Tyler...but then thought better of it because we would have had to stake out a spot 3 or 4 hours ahead of time! You know I can't spend that much time in the sun! With my complexion...I'd roast! Instead...we hung out at Tyler's crib and pigged out! They made all sorts of good food! Apparently beer, BBQ, and friends are the best way to spend the 4th of July!

I hadn't totally recovered from the day at the beach and ended up crashing in Tyler's cool Cars bed / couch thingy! It was super comfy and even had a built in blanket! To quote of of daddy's favorite actors (Will Smith): "I have got to get me one of these!" Can anyone guess the movie?

Finally, on Monday, I met up with "The Tribe." Apparently, "The Tribe" is mommy's gang from college. From the stories I've heard, she was sort of a hooligan! Daddy didn't know her back then...so I'm looking for the dirt! Someone fill me in!

Anyway...a bunch of people met up at Niles Community Park in Fremont to race jogging strollers and let the dogs get some exercise. I think this was the most activity that Tachi's had in a long time.

From left to right...you can see Kyden's feet, me passed out in the middle, and the Big Z on the right (aka Zachary). I borrowed a friend's B.O.B. stroller to try out (well...for mommy to try out). Seemed fine to me, but what do I know...I just have to sit there. Someone else has to carry this thing around and push me.

After walking for a couple of hours, we turned around and grabbed some lunch at Chipotle. Auntie Katherine and Uncle Eric kept taunting me with a burrito. How mean! Just wait...one of these days...I'll get my burrito!

Hey Ladies!

As promised...here's my bathtub picture! Auntie Christi said that my new tub was for toddlers. Oh well...my little blue tub was cramping my style! Now I can spread out and relax! Every time I hop into the bath, I feel the day's stress drain out of my body and I feel like a new man!

Auntie Audrey and Matthew came by today for a quick visit. He was all over the house, leaving what Auntie Audrey called his "snail trail." Not only was he fast...but he drooled up a storm! I can't wait to crawl. It looks like so much fun! They dropped off some extra formula for me and rice cereal! Yum! Now if I could only figure out how to eat something that doesn't come out of a bottle....

Next week we're going over to Matthew's crib to hang out. I heard he has an awesome play area with a slide! All of the things I have to look forward to!

Call Me Dhalsim, Yoga Master

Mommy took me to a pilates/yoga class for moms and babies, called Pi-Yo Play. It was so much fun! There were exercises for mommy, exercises for just me and exercises for both of us. I was laying on my back for most of the class, but it was so fascinating watching all the other mommies, babies or the scarf in mommy's hand.

The teacher even picked me as one of her demo babies. I did really good too! I didn't drool or spit up on her. Well, maybe just a little bit of drool. :) My favorite exercises were "I Love You" or "Super Baby". I let mommy know that I really liked those because I smiled and laughed the most during those exercises.

Mommy even sang songs while she exercised with me! We sang the Wheels on the Bus, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Mary Had a Little Lamb, The Noble Duke of York (mommy's never heard of that one before), and Rainbow Connection. It must've been a good workout cuz I fell asleep at the end of class while the mommies sat in a circle talking and sharing mommy experiences.

Sorry, no pictures of videos of me or mommy in class, but here's a YouTube video of some of the exercises we did:
