Happy Thanksgiving!
At first, this whole day didn't make any sense. Pilgrims? Indians? Macy's Parade? Black Friday? It's all very strange.
When we got to Grandma and Grandpa's house with Po-Po and Auntie Judy and were greeted by the whole family, it started to make sense. Thanksgiving is just time to be with family and friends and pig out! Now that's a holiday that I can get down with!
Let's see...what am I thankful for?
I'm so thankful for having a great family and awesome friends. Thanks for taking such good care of me, for passing on the tricks of the trade, and for your unconditional love. ** wipes away tear ** It was really cool seeing everyone and I'm glad to know that we'll all be getting together in less than a month for something called Christmas! As long as there's more food, I'm so there!
This is a picture of me and my cuz Kimora after dinner. I totally look like I have food coma. She, on the other hand, looks totally cute! Minds out of the gutter boys...I may be younger than you...but I've got a few pounds on most of you!

I'm 8 Months Old!
Let's see...what's changed since I turned 7 months...
- I'm a crawling machine! No more of that inch worm stuff...this is real man crawling! Yay!
- Not only am I a crawler...I'm a puller too! What's a puller? A puller is someone who pulls things of course! What am I pulling? Myself...up to a stand!
- I'm munching on more solids...and lately...I've been getting some actual food! Little bite size pieces of banana, baked pear, and some other stuff. One time, I even got a sweet potato fry and some turkey! Yum!
- Speaking of munching...I've got 3 teeth popping in! Two on the bottom (in the middle) one one on top...way off to one side. Don't ask why I'm not symmetric. I have no clue what my teeth are doing.
- I'm back in my swim class, which is really fun now that I'm older!
- I decided to become an artist! I even sold my first piece. Yes, it was sold to daddy...but it was still sold for a whopping $10! Guess that explains my left-handedness.
- I'm sure I'm bigger...but I don't know how much. With all of the pigging out I did in Maui, plus Thanksgiving coming up and Christmas after that...I'm sure I weigh as much as a whale! I'm staying away from the scale for a bit.
Man...time sure if flying by fast! The next thing you know...I'll be driving! I just hope I don't have to drive that toaster that daddy drives.

Swimming in the Cold and Rain
After a week in the water in Maui, I really felt like a fish. No worries...just chillin. I even got the nerve to go down the slide...head first!

My First Plane Ride!
Mommy gambled a bit and booked seats that weren't next to each other. The hope was that no one would take the seat between mommy and daddy and it worked! Yay! I had my own seat...although I don't think I spent very much time in it. Soon after boarding the plane, I fell asleep. When I woke up, we were a million miles up in the air flying over the Pacific Ocean! The only problem...planes are boring! I couldn't crawl around only a few of my toys got to come along with us. I grabbed a bottle and the next thing I knew, we were on the ground in Maui!
Another day, we went to visit the Maui Ocean Center. We stopped at Beach Bums Bar and Grill first for some lunch. Uncle Mike and Daddy said that it was some of the best BBQ that they've ever had! Guess what! I even got to taste some of Auntie Christi's smoked turkey! Yum! I'm hoping they give me more of that at Thanksgiving!
Aquariums are cool. The fishies are so colorful and fast! I kept trying to bang on them, but they moved out of the way just in the nick of time. I ate so much that I had a huge food coma. I fought it, but it was dark inside and the shimmering lights from the tanks just did me in. I conked out...right before the tunnel where the sharks swam! Boo! That darn BBQ!
Kyden and I got to spend the afternoon playing in the pool and down at the beach with mommy and daddy while Auntie Christi and Uncle Mike spent the afternoon scuba diving. Swimming around with the fishies sounded really cool until they started talking about the giant turtle that tried to eat Auntie Christi!
Later that evening, mommy and daddy got to spend an adult dinner at Mamma's Fish House. I don't know what it means to have an adult dinner...but I had a blast with Auntie Christi and Uncle Mike. We hung out, ate a ton, and played samurais and ninjas! Since it was dark outside, it was really hard to see the ninjas...but I was ready. Auntie Christi even did my hair so I could look more intimidating. Our villa remained safe through the rest of our trip! Thank you Samurai Tai! (Auntie Christi and Uncle Mike gave me that name.)
Oh...and get this! Auntie Christi and daddy were on TV! We ventured into Lahaina for shaved ice at Ulu Lani's Shave Ice. Auntie Sylvia said that it would be a "life changing" experience...and it was. I've never had shave ice before, but daddy gave me some while mommy was shopping. Yum! Anyway...while everyone was eating their shave ice, the owner of the store came up to us and said he'd give us a free shave ice if we stood in line while they shot a clip about Ulu Lani's for a special on the Golf Channel. You all know my daddy...free...he's there! So Auntie Christ and daddy went back, stood in line, ordered, and talked to the workers there while the reporter lady stood behind them and talked. I haven't been able to find the clip online yet...but I'll post it once I do. Either way...free shave ice!
The trip was really relaxing and full of good food with good friends. I wonder if this is going to become an annual thing. ** fingers and toes crossed ** I wonder if Auntie Christi, Uncle Mike, and Kyden spent the drive home thinking, "Those parents of Samurai Tai are insane! No more vacations with them!" ** fishing for validation that you guys had fun and want to vacation with us again **

Look Out World...There I Went
If you think mommy and daddy were in trouble before...now they're really in for it!
I've evolved! No more of that worm crap. I mean really? The worm? That was so 1980's. I've gone on to bigger and better things! 4 legged loco-motion! (Man...lots of really bad stuff from the 80's...horrible song...really bad hair...stupid dance moves...and who dresses like that?!)
I've been working on this for the last two weeks in daycare. Now...it's finally ready for prime time!

The Day That Would Never End
- 6 am: Standing up in my crib...looking toward the door...waiting for someone to come get me.
- 6:30: Breakfast.
- 7:00: Time to go to school. Say bye bye to mommy.
- 7:20: Arrive at school.
- 7:50: Daddy says bye and goes to work.
Tonight was "Back to School Night." It was where the teachers get together and show the parents what a day in our lives is like at school. They get to see the different things we do, like:
- Tactile activities with different types of cloth, spaghetti, ice, play-doh, and other things
- Painting
- Story time
They even had little stations where the mommies and daddies got to do the same activities that we do. Mommy had fun painting. Ky - do you think mommy's painting looks like barf like mine did?
It was also a good opportunity for mommy and daddy to get to know Ms. Christine, one of my new teachers. She went to UC Davis - Daddy already likes her.
We finally left daycare at 7:45. I spent over 12 hours there! Crazy!
Mommy's passed out on the couch now. Now, she finally understands how tiring my day is!

Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim.
My last two Saturdays have been absolutely exhausting. After I wake up from my morning nap, we load up and make the trek out to Sutton Swim School. This place might look familiar because I've been there before...about three months ago. Back then, I was just a little baby and I kept falling asleep during my swim practice. Now, I'm a big boy! I wake up from my nap, have my bottle, and I'm energized and ready to train!
This is my second lesson and I'm loving it! I'm still the youngest one in my class, but I got some encouragement from one of the other mom's in the class. She said her son started when he was my age and he's now two and a half and just loves the water! Look out Michael Phelps! I'm coming after you!

Victim of the Economy
Well...everything is about to change in a week. Because of the economy (and some other reasons - like kids graduating to the next grade), some of the kids I go to school with are going to be staying home (or going somewhere cheaper). That means they're consolidating all of us infants into two home bases. So what's that mean for me? I have to move to a new home base and get new teachers! Boooo! I really like my teachers (and so do mommy and daddy).
Now, I'm going to have to spend the next two months breaking in my new teachers and making sure they know what I like and when I like it. This is going to be such a pain! I think mommy and daddy are protesting...but you can't fight the system.
