Mason is 8 Months Old!

Happy 8 months to Mason!

Here's what he likes:
  • Sucking his toes. Yes, he's still that limber. I think it's gross.  Who knows where his toes have been...eww.
  • Fruit. He eats veggies, but he definitely prefers fruit. He has good taste, just like his big bro.
  • Puffs. Sometimes I tell mama that Mason needs/wants puffs. I don't know if he really does or not. It's my way of getting mama to maybe give me some puffs. (shh...don't tell her.)
  • Crawling: He crawls everywhere..on the changing table/counter when he's getting a diaper change. Mama and dada find this especially annoying.  He crawls/climbs up mama's tummy when she's holding him.  He even tries to crawl out of the bath tub during bath time.  Mama says we need to take him to climbing gym when he's old enough
  • Pulling himself up to a stand: He's getting pretty good at it too. Unlike me, he's figured out how to get back down on his own.
  • Kicking in the bath: Mama and dada get totally wet when they give him a bath! He splashes lots of water everywhere. I think he's ready for swim lessons!
  • Getting his hair done.  Mama put his hair into a ponytail the other day and sent him off to school.  Ms. Sandra asked dada where we got the little girl.  It looked so fun that I asked mama to put my hair into a pony tail too.  See here we are: The Samurai Tais!

 Here's what he doesn't like
  • Being put down and left alone, especially if he's tired.
  • Napping at daycare. He's made progress...usually he takes two 45 min to 1 hour naps. But there are still days where he skips a nap or only sleeps for a half hour.

Guess Whooo's Having a Baby?

No, it's not mama and dada.  :P  Uncle Jason and Auntie Jessica!  Oliver is getting a cousin...another BOY cousin.  Family reunions are going to be a blast with all us boys running around.  Hope Kimora can keep up with all us boys.

Since we missed their wedding in January (Mason was only a couple weeks old, and we were all adjusting to our new family), we made the trek up to Sacramento for their baby shower.  It was at a Chinese restaurant. There were lots of people and it felt a little bit like a wedding banquet.  Mama says that Auntie Jessica looked fantastic, and she wished she looked that good when she was pregnant.

It was fun to see everyone and hang out with Ethan, Kimora and Kyle.  Oh, and of course all my great aunties and uncles!  Oliver couldn't make it because he's expecting a baby brother soon.  I should give him some tips on the big brother gig.  Not that he needs it because I'm sure he'll be a terrific big brother.

The best part of the shower is that I got to watch videos on an iPad during lunch!  Mama couldn't believe it when dada suggested it.  She was so surprised that she took a photo of it as proof that it actually happened.  See, we're watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse:

Everyone got to meet Mason for the first time too!  They all commented on his hair.  You know, I had crazy hair too!  Then dada cut it and now I don't like crazy hair anymore. And we figured out where his curly hair comes from.  It's from dada's great grandmother (the Kuroko's)!  Apparently Uncle Darryl has curly hair, but he keeps his hair short so you can't tell.

Family (and Friends) Day at Gilroy Gardens

We met up with Ethan, Uncle Jeff, Auntie Jeanette, Grandma and Grandpa at Gilroy Gardens today.  Some of my friends, Abby, Kyden, Sienna and Issac, were there too!  But we didn't get to spend very much time with them (boo).  Guess that means we'll need to plan another trip.

When mama told me that Ethan was going to come to Gilroy Gardens today I said, "Ethan's going to cry." He didn't like the rides very much last time he went with us.  But mama said that he might like it better this time because he's older. Well, she was right!  He even rode the Tubs o Fun with me, which is like the teacups at Disneyland.  Mason got in on the action too.  He drove mama and dada in the "bumper cars" ride.  Looks like it was a bumpy ride.

I played in the big kid water play area for the first time too!  I wasn't a fan of the giant tube slide because I got stuck.  We all thought it was a water slide, but it's not.  It's just wet because all the kids who ride it are wet.

My favorite was shooting water cannons.  Dada and I had a water fight with Grandpa and Ethan.  Looks like grandpa is having a little too much fun.

I like shooting the water cannons better than getting soaked by it.  There was a six year old girl who turned her cannon my way and drenched me.  I kept saying, "No, don't shoot me." But she didn't stop so Dada and I walked away.  Good job dada.

On our way out, we stopped and took a picture with grandma and grandpa.  (It's amazing what us kids will do for puffs.)

Do you think they have similar picture with dada, Uncle Jeff and Uncle Mike?

We had a great time at Gilroy Gardens.  I'm glad that Ethan liked it too.  All the kids fell asleep on the long drive to Uncle Jeff's house.  We spent the night at Uncle Jeff and Auntie Jeanette's house.  Yay! I got to sleep in the tent again.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Birthday Party

Today was Matthew's birthday party.  It was a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed party.  There was a Mickey Mouse cake, Mickey Mouse cupcakes, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse themed carnival games, and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse party favors and prizes.  Matthew's mama is amazing!  Matthew's auntie made the cake and cupcakes.  If anyone's looking for custom cakes and cupcakes, you should check out her business.  I hope mama plans a super cool party like this for me.

The carnival games were also lots of fun.  There were five different games, including throwing bean bags at stacked cans,  fishing and a ring toss.  I really like the fishing game and wanted to play it over and over again.  See, I caught a fish (and Goofy and Minnie and more)! I wonder when dada is going to take me fishing for real.

The party was at a one of my favorite parks, Ortega Park.  I had a blast running around with my friends, playing in the water play area and the playground.  I used to be afraid of the water play area, but not anymore!  My clothes were completely soaked, and I kept running back to push the button so more water would come out of the giant flower.

Meeting Cousin Caylie

Uncle Eddie, auntie Lia and Caylie have been back in the Bay Area since Monday.  They came over for dinner tonight and we (finally) got to meet Caylie!

Mama tried to take a picture with the three of us, but I didn't want to.  So she tried to take one of Mason and Caylie.  They didn't really cooperate either.  Mason was grumpy cuz he didn't nap at daycare (again).  This is the best picture that she got.

Maybe next time they visit, we can try again.

Caylie's pretty mellow.  She's at that blob stage, where you can put her down just about anywhere.  Unlike Mason, she sits still when you hold her.  She's also got super chubby cheeks.  I think her cheeks are bigger than mine where when I was her age. When she fell asleep on Auntie Lia, her face got all smooshed.

Mama and dada are looking forward to having them move back to the Bay Area so us kids can hang out more and grow up together.  I think mama just wants to have a little girl to spoil.

All Aboard!

Matthew, Edison and I went to visit Thomas yesterday! He was visiting Roaring Camp near Santa Cruz.

I got to ride three trains!  One from the parking to the depot, Thomas and the train from the depot back to the parking lot.  Thomas was the longest of the three train rides.  Thanks to Auntie Audrey, we go to snack on panda cookies and goldfish crackers while we rode Thomas through the forest and over a bridge.

We had a blast running around, getting our faces/arms painted and riding trains. Dada, however, did not have a good time because I wasn't listening again.  That's why I look cranky and mad in the picture.  Mama thought I was listening as well as a tired 2 year old could.  But dada has higher standards.  Sheesh!

He's mobile!

Mason's crawling!  Apparently he's been crawling since Thursday.  But we never witnessed it until today. Check it out:

Dada's totally fine with it.  He's even encouraging it.  Mama, on the other hand, is not so thrilled because now they'll have to chase after two of us. I don't think mama should be so concerned.  Just wait 'til Mason is full on running and not listening!
