I am 11 months old!

Happy birthday to me! This birthday wasn't as exciting as the previous two...no tress with lights or other decorations and no barfing. I sure hope my next birthday is more exciting.

Things I like:
  • Walking! Yup, that's one of my new favorite activities. I'm getting better at it all the time. My daycare buddy and I started walking at the same time. It helps to have a partner in crime. My mommy says Auntie Christi and Auntie Joanne would agree with that.
  • Playing with water. Bath time, swim class, at the CDM, when mommy and daddy try to get me dressed on the bathroom counter, if I dribble some on my high chair tray. Doesn't really matter where. If there's water nearby, I want to play with it! I haven't been able to get to Tachi's water bowl though. :( Mommy and daddy always stop me before I can get to it. Someday soon I'll get to it when they're not watching.
  • Feeding myself. While I've made friends with the spoon, I still prefer to feed myself. It's must more fun. I can pretty much feed myself anything: cottage cheese, spaghetti & meatballs, mashed potatoes.
  • Throwing food: Mommy and daddy are always telling me that sharing is a good thing. So, I like to share my food with Tachi by "accidentally" dropping or throwing it on the floor. I like to share even when we're at a restaurant and Tachi's not around. I dunno why mommy and daddy say stuff like restaurants won't let us come back. It's not my fault restaurants don't have dogs.
  • Emptying the tupperware onto the floor. When I was wandering around the kitchen I discovered a really cool cabinet with lots of bowls and lids. Before I figured out how to open the door, I'd scramble over to there whenever I saw mommy or daddy open that drawer. But now that I'm walking and have figured out how to open the door on my own...hehehe. Just look at what I'm capable of now! ---------->
  • Petting Tachi and my friends at daycare. I like to walk up to them and just hi by patting them on the head.

Things I don't like:
  • Getting in trouble. If mommy or daddy yell really loud (because I'm doing something that I shouldn't be and I'm choosing to ignore them), sometimes I start to cry. I don't think my attempts at making them feel bad or guilty are working though.
  • Napping. Yup, still not a fan. I'll fight it until I just pass out on the futon or floor at daycare. Who wants to miss out on all the fun?
  • Putting things away. Mommy tries to trick me into thinking it's a fun game, but I'm on to her. Who does she think I am? Daddy?

Left Out In the Cold

Dude...I was digging around in daddy's wallet and found this stuff! At first, I was just crumpling it up and was about to chew on it when I noticed the date! It's today! What the heck?

The day started off pretty normal except that BOTH mommy and daddy dropped me off at daycare this morning. I should have known something was up!

It took a little while to figure out that insignia on the receipt...but I finally did it. The power of the internet! It's from Michael Mina! And they went without me!

And it gets worse! They even went to a movie without me!

I can't believe they dropped me off at daycare of played hooky from work! Oh the injustice!

Boo on the Spring Festival!

Mommy had brunch plans with some of her girlfriends so daddy and I made plans to hit CDM and grab burritos at La Vics. Daddy's never been there, Uncle Mike raves about the "orange sauce," and I've never had a burrito before. Needless to say, we were both super duper excited!

When we got to CDM, the doors weren't open yet. Sunday mornings are for members only for the first hour. I like to go then because it's not too crowded and I don't get trampled on by the bigger kids. Once we got in, the fun began!

I checked out a couple of new things in the Wonder Cabinet, including this big funnel thing that you tossed these blue balls into, the stairs in the infant / crawler room, and the cyclone in the water area. I surprised daddy by going down the stairs the right way...backwards. I also toddled around a bit. Gotta keep practicing my strut!

After playing in the water area, I got out of my wet clothes and sat down for some grub. Daddy packed pasta, meatballs, sweet potato fries, and strawberries! Yum! I was so excited that I forgot about the burritos at La Vics and got a food coma. : (

We got to the car and drove the half mile to the burrito place but there was no parking! We circled around three or four times and then I couldn't take it anymore and zonked out. Later, I looked online and found out that there was some sort of Spring Festival...which explains why there was no parking! I mean...really? It's the middle of winder! Who has a spring festival parade in the middle of winter! Poor daddy...when he saw me asleep, he just headed home...without a burrito.

Anyone want to try and make an outing of this next Sunday?

Daddy says sorry for the crappy video quality. He needs to get an iPhone4.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Mommy always says that I'm a lover, not a fighter. She's right about that. As proof, I asked daddy to help me surprise mommy for Valentine's day.

Since daddy doesn't celebrate Valentine's day, I had to convince him to help me. Daddy says that Valentine's Day isn't a real holiday; it's a commercial holiday that companies made up to get people to spend their hard earned money and make single people feel bad. He says today should be renamed Single's Awareness Day. But I used my powers of persuasion and convinced him that we should do something special for mommy.

So, while mommy was picking me up from daycare, daddy was busy picking up flowers, a gift and card and making dinner. Daddy did a super job too. He even dug out one of mommy's candles and a table cloth to make it feel extra fancy. Boy was mommy surprised when we got home! She gave me and daddy a super big hug and kiss. Happy Valentine's Day!

Mommy and Daddy are Famous!

A long, long time ago, mommy and daddy got married at Seascape Resort in Aptos. I heard that it was a really fun wedding and that everyone had a great time. Anyway...last week, daddy went out with the guys for "guys night out." I'm not sure why the guys need a night out and why we're not invited...oh well. Uncle Paul mentioned that mommy and daddy were in the brochure at Seascape. I had to check it out. (Here's the link.) Low and behold...there they are on page 8! I wonder if they're collecting royalties for this.

What A Great Weekend!

It all started when daddy picked me up early from school on Friday. See...school's so exciting, I rarely sleep. When he picks me up early, it's usually because he wants me to take a good nap so we can party later that night. Bingo!

When I woke up, Po Po was over. We packed things up and off we went to Hanamaru Sushi for dinner. We sat down and the food started flowing. Mommy even ordered chicken teriyaki just for me! Yum! Mommy and daddy think I eat a lot, but what they don't know is that I make sure to keep my buddy Tachi well fed. See...I gotta keep him on my good side or he won't let me ride him like a pony. Anyway...I tried to feed him like I usually do (dropping food for him onto the floor), but he didn't show up. I tried again and again until I had a huge pile of food on the floor for him. Oh well...guess he wasn't hungry.

Saturday was a really lazy day. After working out at swim lessons, I took a three hour nap. Man did that feel good. I was getting hungry and mommy didn't want to cook so we headed off to the Elephant Bar. The wait there was too long so we had to find somewhere else to go. I didn't want to go to a place with elephants anyway...I hear they're stinky. We then tried to go to Wahoo's, but it got turned into some Korean BBQ place. Weird. We finally landed at Harumi Sushi. This place was pretty lively with flashing lights and the basketball game on TV. When mommy and daddy were ordering, things got weird. They had monkey brains and a Greg roll. The monkey brains were weird enough...but wait...a Greg roll? Isn't that daddy? Ok...I had to get out of there after hearing that! Then...the waitress brought a bowl of water over to the table next to us and set it on fire! Ok...this place was too weird for me...I had to get outta there!

We spent Super Bowl Sunday hanging out at Ky's place. The game was on and I was cheering for daddy's team. It's so cool that he has his own football team. I mean, why else would they have a big 'G' on their helmets?

Uncle Mike made yummy sliders and Auntie Christi made an even yummier pasta salad! I even got to eat both of them! Yummy! Ky also let me try out his new recliner. Oh man...that's an awesome chair! It totally beats sitting on the floor. I've gotta get me one of those!

What an awesome weekend! I'm exhausted! Off to bed!

It's About Time!

I spent another day looking for mommy at school again. I was so tired that I slept for an hour today, but then I woke up and tried to find her again. All this searching is killing me!

I passed out while drinking my last bottle at school. The next thing I remember, I'm sleeping on the couch while daddy's watching TV and then...Yay! Mommy's home!

Apparently she went on a business trip to someplace called Las Vegas. No one even asked me for permission! How rude!

Anyway...I'm putting my foot down. Mommies are not allowed to go to Las Vegas anymore. From now on...only daddies are allowed to go to Las Vegas.
