My 1st Birthday Party
Mommy and daddy planned a really big party to celebrate my first birthday. It was so big that we couldn't have it at our house. Instead we had it at BJ's Brewhouse and Restaurant. They have yummy pizza and nice big room for my party. Mommy says this party is really for her and daddy because I'm not old enough to appreciate it. Whatever, I totally appreciated it. Can you say cake with frosting?! More on that later.Grandma and grandpa came over to early to take me to swim class while mommy, daddy and Po-Po ran last minute errands and set up for my party. Of course, I was fashionably late to my own birthday party. I needed some extra time to get ready and make sure I looked dapper. By the time we arrived, lots of people were already there. Po-Po swooped me away to meet her friends, who ohhh'd and awww'd over me. It's awesome being the center of attention! I got to see lots of my friends and their parents, explore the restaurant, make friends with other diners and eat pizza and pasta.
But the best part were the cakes!
Yes, you read that right, cakes...plural. Mommy ordered a super awesome cake to serve to all our party guests. It was a gigantic Sesame Street theme'd cake. The waiter even said it was the coolest cake he ever saw and told mommy that lots of heads turned when he brought it out and set it up.My other cake was a special cake just for me. Mommy baked it and frosted it with homemade cream cheese frosting. After everyone sang Happy Birthday to me, I got to eat my special cake. It sure was tasty! I LOVE cake and frosting. Here's a photo collage to prove just how much I love cake:

Thanks everyone for coming out and celebrating my birthday! Hope you had as much fun as I did!

Getting shots sucks
It started out fine. My doctor's office has a fish tank, toys and books in the waiting room. Even when we got into the exam room, things were still okay. I got weighed and measured. Here're my stats:
- Weight: 23lbs 14oz (75th percentile)
- Length: 30 and 3/4 inches (75th percentile)
I got to walk around the exam room and show off my skills to the doctor. Daddy entertained me while mommy and nice doctor discussed stuff like weaning me from a bottle, introducing cow's milk, nuts, egg whites and fish into my diet and my growing dis-like for veggies.
I thought I was home free, but then the nurse came and gave me 2 shots. One in each leg. Boohoo! Sniff, sniff...

I am 1 year old!
Happy 1st Birthday to me! Mommy made cupcakes to celebrate with my friends at daycare. She didn't put any frosting on them though because she didn't think my daycare teachers would appreciate having all us kids amped up on sugar. (I feel totally gyped. What's up with that?!)Things I like:
- Walking: How come no one told me about how fun this walking business is? I like it when mommy or daddy chase me down the hallway. I've been exploring new places in our house, like the purple room. Daddy had to childproof that room because I was getting into all kinds of stuff.
- Alligator pull toy at daycare: I like draggin' it around the daycare, but sometimes I fall down because he gets stuck on the corner of something or my friend, Joshua, sits on him.
- Bubbles: I love bubbles. They're mysterious to me. Why do they always pop when I try to grab them?
- Reading: One of my favorite activites is grabbing a book and walking over to mommy or daddy and saying, "Na-na." When they sit down on the floor, I climb into their lap and we read. I like flipping the pages and lifting the flaps on my "Lift-the-flap" books.
- Water play: When I hear the water from the bath tub, I come racing down the hallway and try to climb into the tub - even when it's not full yet. Can you blame me for getting excited? I get to splash in my tub and play with water toys! I've heard that some kids get to splash in puddles when it rains, but I haven't done that...yet.
- Balls: I like to throw them, roll them and "catch" them. I also like to put them into the giant pot mommy and daddy let me play with.
Things I don't like:
- Getting my haircut: Mommy and daddy tried to cut my hair again. This time I cried. I don't like those clippers. I tried to protect my hair with my hands, but it didn't work. Why do mommy and daddy like to torture me? Don't they know my hair is part of why the ladies like me? It's like they're trying to ruin my game.
- Strangers: We had a new teacher at daycare last week. Everytime I saw her, I cried. Stranger danger.
- Napping at daycare: Why would anyone want to nap when there's so much fun to be had?

What A Weekend!
Another great weekend in the books!
Everything started off wet. Rain + swimming = a water logged Logan. Oh well...it sure was fun! I'm getting so close to being able to climb up to the pool slide! Give me a week or two more and I'm sure I'll be doing it on my own!
Later that evening, Matthew and Kyden came over for dinner. We had lasagna, salad, egg rolls, and burnt almond cake. I gobbled down the lasagna, but no one would give me any of the egg rolls! What's up with that?! One thing that I noticed was by the end of dinner...I had food all over my face but Matthew and Kyden were completely clean! I guess I have a lot to learn when it comes to eating. But...when mommy went into the kitchen, daddy slipped me a bite of the cake. YUM! Shhh...don't tell mommy!
Sunday, we did some shopping at Whole Foods and Costco. I picked out some cereal bars at Whole Foods. We'll see if they're any good or not. Later that evening, mommy was going to play volleyball at the JACL mixer, so I helped her warm up and stretch (see video below). After daddy and I ate dinner, we headed out to meet mommy.
When we got there, I saw a whole bunch of kids. It was just like daycare! Edison, Matthew, and Kyden were there. There were also these two cute twin girls. I caught one of their names...Madison. I didn't get a chance to meet the other one. Man were they cute!
While mommy was playing, daddy and I sat in the corner and watched. When she came back to serve, I got up to give mommy a high five for playing so well...but daddy stopped me before I got too close. Guess he didn't want me getting squashed. There were a couple of times I saw a really good play so I clapped! Yay! Go mommy!
Before I knew it, it was 8:00 and I was getting tired. All kids must get tired at 8:00 because we all went home. After a bunch of high fives and fist bumps...I was back at home and curled up in bed. Good night!

Sold Out!
Anyway...I have a new friend at daycare. Her name's Mitra. She's a bit younger than me and she's always sucking on a pacifier...like Maggie Simpson. Since I didn't grow up with a pacifier...I was curious...so I plucked it right out of her mouth! It's become a game now. Whenever I see her, I try to steal her pacifier. She tries to run away...but I'm older than she is so I'm faster!
Well today, Mitra's dad was carrying Mitra and he said, "Say hi to Logan, Mitra!" I looked up and gave her the famous Tang family scowl and she cried! I mean...I did the same thing to Ms. Sandra in the morning and she just laughed at me. Oh man....
When daddy came to pick me up, Ms. Nancy told him that I made Mitra cry! I can't believe she sold me out!

My first pair of shoes and a new cousin!
When I woke up, we headed to the shoe store where the nice lady measured my feet. Turns out I have wide feet. The nice shoe store lady said they might even be super wide. Mommy's not surprised because she and Uncle Eddie have wide feet. She's just hoping I won't end up with pontoons like Uncle Eddie and have to special order shoes for me like Uncle Eddie does.
<----Oh, check ou
t my new shoes! Cool huh? They are way m
Mommy says that daddy's shoes were stylish back when he was a baby. Man, daddy sure is old!
It turns out the quest for new shoes was partially motivated by the fact that I had to look good to meet my new cousin, Ethan. Auntie Jeanette and Uncle Jeff welcomed a new addition to their family on Friday, Feb 25, and we went to go meet him! I got to walk around the hospital and explore the hallways in my new shoes. I made friends with the nurses and some of the other people in the waiting room. Here're a couple of pics of Ethan:

Mommy says that Ethan looks like a mini version of Uncle Jeff. Daddy and I can't tell. He just looks like a baby to us. Ethan's cool and all, but he's kinda boring right now. All he does is sleep, eat, poop and cry. I can't wait until he's older so we can play together! Here's a pic of Grandma, Grandpa, me and Ethan. Doesn't he look tiny compared to me?
