Sesame Street - Alive and Kicking!

Apparently both mommy and daddy grew up watching Sesame Street. Well...it's still going! Can you believe it? Here are my two favorite clips:

If you didn't watch the Super Bowl, click here for the reference.

Sesame Street: Will.i.am's Song "What I Am"

The Great (Killer) Pumpkin

Remember a few weeks back, mommy, daddy, and the Pham's all played hookey from work so that we could go to the pumpkin patch? Well, we went again with the Yamamoto's and look what we brought home! Can you believe it?! These things are huge! I'm just in awe!

After the Imagination Parade, I was completely exhausted. Life in the spot light will do that to you. I finished up my evening bottle and zonked out. I don't even remember going to bed.

The next morning, I woke up and these two giants had been transformed!

I've been told that this is part of the Halloween tradition. It still seems strange to me, but what do I know...I'm only 7 months. When I first saw them, I was a bit scared, but the flickering lights just mesmerized me. The more I looked at the one on the left, the more it seemed familiar. Then it hit me! Remember that cute little pumpkin I brought home from Uesugi Farms? That crazy pumpkin on the left ate it! OMG! My poor little pumpkin!

Uh Oh...Here Comes Trouble!!!

Mommy and daddy think I sleep until 6 am. Little do they know that I'm working out in my crib way before that! See...I don't get to go to Little Gym yet, so I have to make due with what I've got. You'd be amazed at how much you can do in your crib: push ups, pull ups, lunges....

After my teachers at CFC kept telling mommy and daddy how I loved pulling myself up to a stand, I figured it was time to give them a glimpse of my sheer power! (YouTube link here)

Imagination Parade

Today was an exciting day. I got a glimpse of life as a celebrity. We had an "Imagination Parade" at daycare today. What's an Imagination Parade? Weeellll, I'll tell you. Each Homebase picks a book and we make costumes from characters in the book. Then we get dressed up in our costumes and have a parade around the building.

Mommy and Daddy said that the Imagination Parade is a politically correct version of a Halloween Parade because some families don't want to celebrate a "pagan" holiday. I don't get what the big deal is. Who doesn't want to celebrate free candy and getting out of school early?

For the Imagination Parade, my homebase team leader picked the book "Five Little Ducklings." Our teachers helped us paint a white visor and long sleeve white t-shirt with yellow and orange paint. Then we added feathers to our shirts because ducks have feathers. I don't know why everyone was surprised that I kept my visor on the entire time. Duh...it's part of the costume.

I've never been in a parade before. Boy was there a lot of excitement. All these people staring at you, shouting and waving at you, flash bulbs going off, and video cameras in your face. I was exhausted after the parade was over. I'd need a much bigger entourage if I become a celebrity. Any volunteers?

I'm 7 months old!

Happy 7 Month Birthday to Me! Here's a run down of the things I like and don't like

Things I Like:
  • Exploring every nook and cranny of my homebase at daycare
  • Inch worming around every where
  • Climbing over mommy or daddy to get where I need to go
  • Drinking 40 oz. I went through a crazy growth spurt and downed 40 oz a day for several weeks. Now I'm on a hunger strike.
  • Trying to pull myself to a stand during bath time
  • TV; if I show too much interest, daddy turns it off. I haven't figured out how to work the remote control yet.
Things I Don't Like:
  • Teething: It really hurts, but now I have 1 bottom tooth.
  • Mushed bananas...they're slimy
  • Frozen yogurt: Mommy tried to feed me some, but it was tart and cold. I overheard her say something about trying again when I'm older. Can't she take a hint?

Rollin' Out to the Children's Discovery Museum

After my morning nap, mommy and daddy took me to the Children's Discover Museum. Ky and Matthew were already running around in the big kids area. We stopped by, said hello, and headed off to "The Wonder Cabinet," which is a special area just for me (for infants and crawlers). After a little while, Ky, Matthew, and Edison popped in and we took over the room! It was awesome! We had a few other kids stop by...but we booted them out...cool kids only club!

If you notice...the first picture is the "stare off." Uncle Mike versus me and Ky versus Matthew (back to the camera with the jeans and blue shirt). I'm not sure who won, but I tried to bang Uncle Mike's face. Lucky for him, we were separated by plexi-glass!

Instead of napping and eating, we just kept playing. Of course, that meant we all turned into a bunch of grumps!

Time to go home! Auntie Lia and Uncle Eddie are coming to visit me! Plus, I have to get a nap in before the Giant's game! Go Giants!

Getting Ready to Walk?

So Ms. Linda at daycare says I'm going to be walking early. She's predicting it will happen at 10 months. Anyone want to take the over / under bet?

To Whom It May Concern....

Dear Mr. Smith and Mr. Singletary,

I've been very disappointed in you both. Mommy and daddy don't let me watch TV so if they have the game on, I risk getting in trouble just to sneak a peak! When I do, I want to see something more than a hand off to Mr. Gore when it's 3rd and 18! I mean...really? Come on! Grow a pair, get the ball down field, score a touchdown, and let's try to get a win! I need to be able to hold my head up high when I wear this outfit!

Sincerely,

Logan

Pumpkin Patch Adventures

Today, Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Paul, and Auntie Leeya all played hookey from work so that they could take Chloe and I to the pumpkin patch. Mommy's co-worker suggested Uesugi Farms farms in Morgan Hill...so we piled into the swagger wagon and headed off into the heat (it was 91 degrees when we got there)!

I've never seen a pumpkin before and really didn't know what to do with them. I tried to eat a few of them, but they didn't taste very good. At least chewing on the stems gave my gums some relief. I am teething you know. I tried to push some of them around, but a lot of them are bigger than I am! Conclusion...pumpkins are useless. I don't get it.

After wandering around the pumpkin patch and checking out the giant pumpkin pyramid, Chloe and I got to pick a pumpkin to take home. I'm still not sure what the big deal is, but I'll take any chance I can to get more stuff. Call me a hoarder.

Uesugi Farms is pretty cool. They have a train that goes around the farm, corn mazes, a petting zoo, and a carousel. Unfortunately it was just so hot that we all wanted to get out of the sun.

After cooling off in the shade, I borrowed Chloe's witches hat and tried to see if I could conjure up a spell to do something useful with my pumpkin. Maybe I could make it into a friend for Tachi or turn it into a pizza. In the end...it's still just a pumpkin.

I Am My Father's Son

Today, it became very apparent that I am my father's son. That probably makes a lot of you go, "duh." There's just some interesting similarities.

First...we both like to sleep on our stomachs. If you ask mommy, she'll tell you that we both drool too. Yes...as ashamed as I am to admit it...there is a big wet spot in that picture. Hmm...wonder why there are no pictures of daddy like this.

Second...Staph likes us both! A month or two ago, Mr. Staph visited daddy's elbow and wouldn't leave. After a weeks worth of meds, Mr. Staph was evicted...never to be seen again. Well...guess who popped up and got me kicked out of daycare? Mr. Staph! Grrr!

Mommy and daddy thought it was just my eczema acting up, but the teachers at daycare thought different. They sent me home and said I needed a doctor's note to come back. Well...mommy and daddy rushed me to the doctor that afternoon. They said they rushed so quickly because they were concerned about me. I think they were just looking for the quickest way to get me back into daycare so I would be out of their hair.

Anyway...my awesome pediatrician said that Mr. Staph lives on our skin (yes...yours too) and when we get little scratches or cuts, it's like the door is open for Mr. Staph to come visit. If you don't know...eczema is itchy. I guess my scratching opened the door a bit too wide and Mr. Staph paid me a visit. Now...it's time to evict him! The war's on!

$#*! My Dad Does

Have you seen that new show with Captain Kirk called "$#*! My Dad Says"? It's pretty funny...but I don't know how to pronounce the first word of the show's title. Can some help me?

This is a show that I can totally relate to. If I were the creator of the show, I'd call it "$#*! My Dad Does." I mean...come on...really?

Quarantined!

This weekend, daddy abandoned mommy, Tachi, and I and took off for Reno in the swagger-wagon with a bunch of his friends. Apparently, one of their friends was getting married. I wonder why I didn't get invited?

So did I have a huge house party or get to hang out with all of my baby-buddies? Nope. The fever monster paid me a visit! Yuck! According to the advice nurse, stomach flu is going around...so watch out! The advice nurse also said that the stomach flu hits adults a lot harder than it hits us babies...so wash your hands!

Things took a turn in the wrong direction Sunday and I had a low grade fever. I was not a happy baby. Mommy and daddy gave me some medicine and I got some rest. Just to be safe, mommy and daddy kept me home today so I could rest up.

Daycare is Fun!

Last week at daycare, my teachers planned a couple of sensory development activities for us. Mommy likes it when she hears about my activities. I guess it makes her feel better about sending me to daycare. She's smart and creative, but probably wouldn't have thought of some of these fun activities for me because she's new at this baby stuff.

The first activity was playing with paint! After putting on a waterproof smock, my teachers handed me a plastic egg filled with paint. My egg kept rolling away from me when I tried to grab it. (I'm still working on my grabbing skills and roun
d objects are harder for me to handle.) After the egg was opened for me, I could hold on just fine. I made a really neat drawing, which is posted on the wall at daycare along with the story and pictures of how I made my masterpiece. Mommy thinks my painting looks like smooshed spider. What do you think it is? I must've been pretty hungry because I also tasted the paint as I painted. Guess I thought the white paint looked like milk. Don't worry, it's non-toxic paint from Crayola.

Just when you thought it couldn't get messier, my teachers let us play with cooked spaghetti and paint! First, they put a bunch of spaghetti in front of us and let us explore it. Surprisingly, I didn't try to eat the noodles, especially since I usually put everything in my mouth. The noodles were k
inda sticky. After a while, my teachers dipped the spaghetti into paint and let us paint pictures. I wonder if I can convince mommy and daddy to let me paint with my friends at home.

We also go for bug
gy rides around the playground or to the lobby to visit the fish in the aquarium. If it's nice outside, we get to play on the grass. I managed to find a patch of mud to play with one time. I got mud on my hands and feet and had to change my clothes. When we visit the fish in the lobby, I like to stare at the fish and space out. Daddy says I can have an aquarium only if I pick up their poo, make sure they have enough to drink and take them for walks. I think he's getting Tachi and fish confused. Is this what happens when you get old?

Partying With the Big Boys!

Friday was my buddy Ky's first birthday and all of us kids got to celebrate with him at The Little Gym in Milpitas on Saturday. I've never been to a place like this before. It's like a real gym with uneven bars, balance beams, and tumbling mats...but kid sized! Ky works out there every week. (I think he's secretly working out so he can try out for America's next top model.)

We had the whole place to ourselves and had two trainers who taught us how to run, jump, and roll. Then they brought out a big, colorful parachute! I think mommy and daddy got excited because they thought we were going to go skydiving (they're crazy). Instead, all of us kids got to ride around on top of it while the adults spun it around. We then got underneath and played for a bit. We also had plenty of free time to explore on our own and play with all of the gym equipment. If I were only bigger, I'm sure I'd be doing flips off of the uneven bars!

Afterwards, we all headed into the back room for food and cake! The lights dimmed, a candle was lit, Ky put on his birthday hat (and started crying), and we all sang happy birthday! Ky got a couple of fist fulls of cake and the rest of us ate Elmo cupcakes. Auntie Christi even made baby cup cakes for us little ones. Unfortunately, I was so tired out by all of the activities in the gym I was too tired to eat! I'm sure it would have been the best tasting cupcake I've ever had! (Auntie Christi - I was really tired! It's not because I didn't like the cupcake!

The next thing I knew, I was at home. I don't remember getting into the car, the drive home, or getting out of the car. Daddy said he had a birthday party like that too. He couldn't remember leaving the party or getting home either. They must have played too hard at the gym as well.

When I woke up, Mommy gave me an Elmo treat bag from the party. Inside, there were bubbles, a ball, an Elmo tattoo, and a story book called "Red or Blue...I Like You."
Auntie Christi - Daddy wants to know why you gave me a story book about the Bloods and the Crips. He says that I'm too young to read about things like that.

Happy birthday buddy! Thanks for a great time!

Big Brother is Watching

You've probably seen Cisco's video surveillance stuff on TV before. It's been on 24, America's Most Wanted, and 30 Rock (to name a few).

Well daddy also uses it...although it's not really as spectacular as it looks on TV. My room has security cameras and daddy can look in on me while he's at work.

The video quality isn't that good, which is ironic because daddy helped launch the HD versions of these cameras! In fact, the video quality is so poor that daddy can only spot me if he remembers what I'm wearing that day!

I'm not making it any easier either. Before, I'd just stay on the big pad in the middle of the room and it was easy to find me. These days, I'm crawling all over the place! Ms. Katrina said that I've visited every corner of the room! Today, I even hid underneath and behind some toys just so daddy couldn't tell if I was asleep or not!
