I Am My Father's Son

Today, it became very apparent that I am my father's son. That probably makes a lot of you go, "duh." There's just some interesting similarities.

First...we both like to sleep on our stomachs. If you ask mommy, she'll tell you that we both drool too. Yes...as ashamed as I am to admit it...there is a big wet spot in that picture. Hmm...wonder why there are no pictures of daddy like this.

Second...Staph likes us both! A month or two ago, Mr. Staph visited daddy's elbow and wouldn't leave. After a weeks worth of meds, Mr. Staph was evicted...never to be seen again. Well...guess who popped up and got me kicked out of daycare? Mr. Staph! Grrr!

Mommy and daddy thought it was just my eczema acting up, but the teachers at daycare thought different. They sent me home and said I needed a doctor's note to come back. Well...mommy and daddy rushed me to the doctor that afternoon. They said they rushed so quickly because they were concerned about me. I think they were just looking for the quickest way to get me back into daycare so I would be out of their hair.

Anyway...my awesome pediatrician said that Mr. Staph lives on our skin (yes...yours too) and when we get little scratches or cuts, it's like the door is open for Mr. Staph to come visit. If you don't know...eczema is itchy. I guess my scratching opened the door a bit too wide and Mr. Staph paid me a visit. Now...it's time to evict him! The war's on!

  1. so, mr. staph helped spring you from school and helped you play hooky with mommy and daddy?! he seems like a fun guy! (but keep him and your house, we're not accepting visitors. thanks.)

p.s. i heard that oatmeal baths help soothe eczema flare ups. (seriously!) so when your mommy is feeding you oatmeal, just grab a handful and slather it on yourself =)

  2. Boy your daddy sure is sharing lots of things with you... I bet you didn't even ask for it huh? Next time tell your daddy that this kind of sharing is different than the sharing you have to do at daycare with the toys!!!!! I agree with Kyden...Mr. Taph can stay at your house!!!

  3. @Kyden and Matthew: Don't worry. Mr. Staph is dead. You won't have to worry next time I see you guys. Oh...and get this. Mommy and daddy are feeding me orange creamsicle out of a syringe three times a day! They say it's "medicine." Yum!
