Imagination Parade

Today was an exciting day. I got a glimpse of life as a celebrity. We had an "Imagination Parade" at daycare today. What's an Imagination Parade? Weeellll, I'll tell you. Each Homebase picks a book and we make costumes from characters in the book. Then we get dressed up in our costumes and have a parade around the building.

Mommy and Daddy said that the Imagination Parade is a politically correct version of a Halloween Parade because some families don't want to celebrate a "pagan" holiday. I don't get what the big deal is. Who doesn't want to celebrate free candy and getting out of school early?

For the Imagination Parade, my homebase team leader picked the book "Five Little Ducklings." Our teachers helped us paint a white visor and long sleeve white t-shirt with yellow and orange paint. Then we added feathers to our shirts because ducks have feathers. I don't know why everyone was surprised that I kept my visor on the entire time. Duh...it's part of the costume.

I've never been in a parade before. Boy was there a lot of excitement. All these people staring at you, shouting and waving at you, flash bulbs going off, and video cameras in your face. I was exhausted after the parade was over. I'd need a much bigger entourage if I become a celebrity. Any volunteers?
