I am 18 months old!

Happy 18 month birthday to me!

Things I Like:

• Reading books. I like to start and end my day reading with Mommy. I like to sit in her lap when she reads to me, but lately it's been harder to do that cuz Mommy's belly is getting in the way. At daycare, I love story time. Ms. Elaine says I'm very attentive. Since Daddy doesn't like to read, I must get this from Mommy.
• Testing limits: It's my new favorite thing! I understand what Mommy and Daddy are saying to me, but I just want to know what will happen if I don't listen to them. Testing limits is fun, but Mommy and Daddy don't think so.
• Pointing out things: When we go for walks, I like to point out things that I see - cars, airplanes, flags, bugs, dogs.
• The color purple: Everytime Mommy and Daddy ask me what color something is, I say "puple" even though it's not purple.
• Trains: Choo-choo...I like to play with them, ride on them and read about them.
• Milk: I admit it. I'm a milk-aholic. It's good stuff!
• Singing: I don't actually sing, but I like to get Mommy or Daddy or any grown-up to sing my favorite songs: Itsy Bitsy Spider and Wheels on the Bus.

Things I Don't Like:

• Not getting my way: Mommy and Daddy should just realize that life for them would be much easier if they just gave me what I wanted whenever I wanted it. Who needs boundaries and discipline? When I don't get my way, I either whine, cry, or (this one is Mommy's favorite) flop on the floor and cry.

Bicycle for Two!

Daddy is so smart! He remembered how much I loved riding in Chloe's bike seat at Abby's party that he went out and got me a bike seat and a bike helmet! My bike helmet is awesome. It's red with ducks on them.

This evening, Daddy installed my bike seat on his mountain bike and we took it out of a ride. It was so much fun that I asked for more whenever we stopped. Daddy was surprised that his bike still worked because he hasn't ridden it in years. Mommy says this is the most exercise that Daddy's gotten in a while. That must be why he's sticking his tongue out in the picture.

I can't wait to go for more bike rides!

Cow Pies and Wedding Cake

Mommy and daddy picked me up early from daycare today. We headed up to Berkeley for Uncle Nelson and Auntie Lisa's wedding. They were getting married at Tilden Park. Since we got there early, we had time to explore the park. Too bad the steam trains and merry-go-round are only open on weekends.

Luckily the Little Farm was open. We saw lots of animals, including goats, sheep, a chicken, cows, and turkeys! Everytime I tried to say hi to the turkeys, they kept running away from me. Guess turkeys aren't very friendly. I liked mooing at the cows, but they weren't very talkative. I also got to feed the cows! They could only be fed lettuce or celery. Good thing a nice man was willing to share his celery. Mommy had no idea that cow tongues were so long. I didn't think it was all that long compared to giraffe tongues.

After the farm, we headed to the wedding. Obviously, I couldn't wear the same clothes I wore to daycare and the farm. Daddy, being the uber planner that he is, packed a change of clothes for me so I could look my best for the wedding. Kyden and I were sporting sweater vests. No, we didn't call each other ahead of time to coordinate. What can I say, we're both just hip trendsetters like Justin Timberlake. If he can bring sexy back, then we can bring sweater vests back.

The wedding was fun. I got to see my friends Kyden, Greyson, Abby, and Chloe. I finally got to meet Allison too! I had so much fun that I passed out during the slideshow. I didn't even get to show off my dance moves on the dance floor!

Busy Weekend!

Whew, I'm tired! My social calendar was crazy this weekend. Most people don't understand how tiring it is being this popular.

On Saturday, I had swim class and TWO birthday parties. The first party was Abby's first birthday party. It was a BBQ at the park. I got to see my pals, Kyden and Chloe too. As soon as I saw the twisty slide at the playground, I pointed, said, "Slide" and took off. After the first time down, I saw an even bigger slide on the other side of the park. I grabbed Mommy's hand and pulled her toward it. She told me that I couldn't go on that slide because it was a water slide for the swimming pool and the pool was closed. Boo! I got over it and rode the twisty slide about 10 more times. I also climbed rocks, played with the bubble gun favors Abby gave us, and rode in Choloe's bike seat. I LOVED the bike seat and wanted to ride more. I hope Daddy got the hint and gets one.

After a nap to recharge, we headed to the 2nd birthday party. This one was for Mommy's cousin's son, Anders. He turned 3. Mommy packed my swim gear and a towel because Anders' mommy and daddy rented a "kiddie water slide." When we got there, Mommy said, "That's not a kiddie water slide." It was a giant inflatable water slide that was at least 20 ft high. Daddy had to borrow shorts from Anders' daddy so he could ride with me. After one time down the slide, I was done. Too high and scary! I think Anders' daddy had the most fun out of all the kids at the party.

On Sunday, we went to lunch with Auntie Judy and Mommy's co-worker and his wife. Mommy and daddy kept referring to Mommy's co-worker's wife as a matchmaker. Are they trying to plan an arranged marriage for me already?! I'm not even 18 months old, and they're already planning my life for me. Geez!

Hooray for Grandparents!

We had a Grandparents Day Celebration at daycare today! Grandma & Grandpa Tai and Po-Po Tang drove all the way down to have breakfast with me and Mommy. It was actually my 2nd breakfast (aka morning snack), but I don't think they cared. Mommy had to leave after breakfast, but I got to spend the rest of the day with my grandparents. Woohoo!

After stopping for a diaper change and sunscreen application, we were off to Happy Hollow Park and Zoo! Actually, Grandpa had to pry me away because it was story time and I LOVE story time. It's all good though because I couldn't wait to show my grandparents around.

First stop the petting zoo. I've gotten pretty good at recognizing animals and wanted to point out the goats to Grandpa just in case he didn't know what they look like. We also visited the miniature horses inside the barn.

After the petting zoo, we rode lots of rides including the Danny the Dragon, Granny Bugs, Mini Putts, and the Carousel (of course!)



I kept pointing to the roller coaster and the Frog Hopper ride, but I was too short to ride those. Boo! Why're they discriminating against vertically challenged people?! Don't they know who their clientele is?! Despite not being able to ride the other rides, it was a great day.
