I'm 6 Months Old!

Happy 1/2 Birthday to me! Mommy and daddy can't believe I'm already 6 months old. They keep saying that time has flown by quickly. I dunno what they're talking about; 6 months is an eternity for me.

As part of this milestone birthday, I went to the doctor for my 6 month check-up. She called me wild and strong! Must be because I complete tore up the paper they use to line the exam table. Here're my stats:
  • Weight: 18 lbs 15oz (75th percentile)
  • Height: 27.25 in (75th percentile)
  • Head circumference: 44 cm (50th percentile)
Looks like my growth is slowing down. The doctor says it's because I'm so active. Wonder what's going to happen when I'm crawling and walking!

Things I Like:
  • Watching Tachi and other kids. My teachers at day care all say that I'm very attentive.
  • Sitting upright w/o support
  • Oatmeal and applesauce. I started back on solids a few weeks ago.
  • Bear crawling/lurching: It's not quite crawling, but I'm definitely on my way. Stay tuned for a video!
  • Banging on books, toys and sometimes mommy and daddy's faces
  • Splashing water in the bath tub, which is really more banging on stuff. It cracks me up when I splash so much that I get mommy and daddy all wet too!
  • Riding on daddy's shoulders. It's such a different vantage point this high up!
  • Swings: last weekend, I got to ride in a swing at the park when we met up with Sierra and Logan. I LOVED it!
Things I Don't Like:
  • Rice cereal. To demonstrate my dislike, I'd turn my head and purse my lips so mommy couldn't feed me. I'm warming up to the stuff, but still prefer oatmeal. Mommy hides rice cereal in my oatmeal. She doesn't think I know, but I do.
  • Getting my nose wiped and de-boogerized with the bulb syringe
  • Napping at daycare
To celebrate my 1/2 birthday, we went to my BFF (birthday friend forever) Edison's house for dinner. His mommy made half a cake for us with candles! I was mesmerized by the candles and the fire. Everyone sang Happy Birthday and then our mommies helped us blow out the candles. But Edison and I didn't get to eat any of the cake. What's up with that?!

Outbreak Monkey

Sorry I've been MIA on my blog. Mommy and daddy keep calling me "outbreak monkey" and put a password on the computer! Too bad I figured it out! (Did you know Uncle Mike is great?) Why are they calling me a monkey? Well...as you all know...I went to daycare and caught a cold. Well...I got better (mostly) and, in the process, took out mommy first. She was sick for a few days. Daddy thought he'd get away...but mommy took him out. Must be all that smooching they do! Hmm...wonder if they're working on my sister.

A lot's changed over the past few weeks. As you can see, I'm getting pretty good at sitting up. Also, I've started crawling (sort of). I think I move more like a worm, but hey...it works. I'm sure there's a video out there somewhere. Watch out world! Ohh...and I've started to bang! It's like my favorite thing to do! Ky and Matthew...I totally get it now! btw...banging Tachi is not good.

Last weekend, grandma and grandpa came over. They were in Daily City having lunch and said that since they were so close, they wanted to come by. What's funny is that Daily City is FAR! When we took Tachi to Fort Funston (which is right by Daily City), it took FOREVER to get there!

It's always good to see them. I showed them my worming skills and my sitting skills. This time, they brought presents! They said that one was for Halloween and one was just because I'm cute! (They didn't really say that...but I like to think that's why they gave me the second one.) Presents are cool! I hear Christmas is a good time for presents...sounds like a blast!

So what'd I get...it's hard to describe...but every time I bang it...it makes these funny noises! The Halloween present got put away because I'm not old enough to play with it yet. Oh well...maybe I'll crawl around and try to find it when mommy and daddy aren't looking!

Bear Grylls and Survivorman, I'm Ready for You!

OMG! Mommy and daddy have been feeding me beetles! Turns out the formula we use was recalled today due to the presence of beetles and their larvae. No wonder I've been fussier and not as hungry lately. Don't worry, eating beetles or their larvae won't kill me. According to Bear Grylls and Les Stroud (Survivorman), they're actually good sources of protein. So, I'm ready for more than just rice cereal, oatmeal and apple sauce!

A Day At The Beach With The Ladies

Auntie Joy arranged a beach day for Adrienne, Mattie, and me (and our mommies and daddies) at Natural Bridges State Park in Santa Cruz. You all know Adrienne as my dream girl. Doesn't she look beautiful in that green dress? Mattie is Dom and Karen's daughter. The funny thing is that daddy and Karen work together but daddy and Dom know each other from elementary school! Small world!

After grabbing sandwiches and other food at Zoccoli's Deli we made our way down to the beach. Everyone was starving so we set up camp and broke out the food. I am so jealous! Both Adrienne and Mattie were chowin down on sandwiches, fruit, and other stuff! All I got was a bottle! In protest, I drank less than half of my bottle. Plan backfired because no one fed me any of the good stuff everyone else was eating! Boo! Guess I need to grow some teeth.

We spent a couple of hours hanging out at the beach. It was cool as I got to know Mattie. She was sort of shy at first. As we got talking, she really opened up. She's a really cool girl (and she's got great toes)! She even tried to build a sand castle and showed me how to make a milk river down my chin! Awesome!

Everyone was getting hungry (again) so we packed up camp and headed to Capitola for dinner. After walking around, we ended up at Zelda's. While Adrienne and I cruised around in our Peg's, Mattie had an awesome perch on top of her daddy's shoulders! I think I've gotta give that a go!
