Happy 2 month birthday to Mason! Hard to believe that he's already 2 months old.
Mason had a well baby doctor visit today. Daddy told the doctor that Mason is broken because he cries a lot and needs to be held when he sleeps. The doctor said that mommy and daddy should start sleep training him now. She acknowledged that it's on the early side, but based on what mommy and daddy said to her she thinks it's probably better to start now rather than wait. Of course, it's ultimately up to mommy and daddy on if/when to start sleep training. Physiologically, Mason'll be okay. I don't think mommy will be okay though. They didn't need to sleep train me because I inherited the Tang family sleep anywhere gene. Mommy really wishes Mason inherited that gene, but so far it doesn't look like it. Maybe Mason'll surprise everyone and become a better sleeper as he gets older.
Mason also got 3 shots and an oral immunization. He did great with the shots! And so did mommy. Good thing I broke her in for him. Here're his stats:
- Weight: 12 lbs 8.5 oz (72nd percentile)
- Height: 24.25 in (91st percentile)
- Head circumference: 39.5 cm (39th percentile)
Here's what Mason's into these days:
- Being held when he naps and in the evenings
- Crying when daddy takes him. Daddy's convinced that Mason hates him. I don't think Mason hates him...he's too little to understand hate.
- Smiling and cooing
- Better head control, but he seems to favor his right side. Doc says that lots of tummy time will help balance out his left side.
- Tracking an object with his eyes
- Grabbing mommy's necklace
