Chomp Chomp

Now that the hockey lock out is over, the Sharks are playing again. Mama took me to our first game of this shortened season this evening. We brought the Sharks jersey uncle Mike bought me for Christmas and my noise protection headphones because it gets pretty loud at the Shark tank.

Mama thought I was going to be really excited about going to the game, but I wasn't.  I've been to the Sharks game before, but I was too young to remember it.  She thought I'd enjoy myself once we got to the game and I could see all the action and maybe even meet Sharkie. But when we got to the arena, I asked if we could go home a couple of times. With some encouragement, we managed to stay through most of the game. I was ready to go home sometime in the middle of the 3rd period. (Can you really blame me? The sharks were up 4-1.)

The highlights of the game:
  • Pointing out the giant shark head hanging from the rafters. We got to the game too late to watch the players skate through the shark head.
  • Getting on the jumbo TV at the arena. One of mama's former co-workers sent her an email saying they saw us on the jumbo TV.
  • Eating a hot dog and cracker jacks for dinner
  • Watching the Zambonis drive around on the ice between periods
  • Making the chomp chomp gesture when the Sharks were on a power play
The lowlights of the game:
  • Not getting to meet Sharkie.
  • Having to sit still for long periods of time. It's a good thing I'm small so I could stand up and move around without blocking anyone's view
Mama couldn't tell if I enjoyed myself or not. So she asked me if I had fun at the game.
Me: It's too loud.
Mama: Would you like to go to another game? Maybe with dada?
Me: No, dada should take Mason.
Mama: What if mama goes to the next game? Should I take someone else like auntie Christi?
Me: Yes...No...auntie Christi should go with uncle Mike because they're family.
Mama: Yes, they are a family. We're a family. Do you want to go to the next Sharks game?
Me: It's very loud.
Mama: What if you bring your headphones to the next game?
Me: Yeah, that's a good idea.
Mama: Okay, so do you want to go to the next game?
Me: No.

Mama said she was very confused after our conversation. I don't understand why she's so confused. I answered her questions.

In case you're wondering what dada and Mason did while we were at the game, here's a picture dada sent to mama. Looks like they got into the spirit and watched the game at home. Mason even has hockey player hair!
