It's been a very hectic 24 hours. I heard my mommy and daddy say they've had enough excitement for a while.
Things started off pretty normal...ate my breakfast, bounced around while mommy got ready for work, and was put to sleep by the rumble of the car while we drove to work. Next thing I knew, I was doing somersaults and was squashed up against the wall!
Now...I don't know what happened...mainly because my eyelids are still closed...but I can hear. There was lots of commotion, sirens, and lots of questions.
Apparently mommy fainted while she was driving to work on the 101. (Auntie Char - This wasn't my fault! I was sleeping...not grabbing and squeezing things in there like you said!
Hmph!) When she woke up, the car was upside down and she crawled out of the window.
Thank goodness for good
samaritans.
Lots of people pulled over to help. One woman even gave mommy her rain boots to wear (mommy didn't know where her shoes went). Another man called daddy, explained what happened, and let mommy talk to daddy to say she was okay. The ambulance came and we were rushed to Stanford hospital.
Daddy got there right after we did (wonder how fast he was driving) and they ran a bunch of tests to be sure mommy was okay. She was fine and only had some bruises and a quarter inch scratch on her hand. It's amazing that she walked away in such good shape when you see the car.
Smushed up car.We were then rushed up to the OB where they checked me out with a fetal heart and contraction monitor. I heard mommy and daddy say that the sound of my heart beat was the best sound they've ever heard. We also had another ultrasound. Bottom line...I'm fine! The doctor said that I'm 1 pound, 6 ounces and around 8 inches long now...right on track! She also said that I was moving around a lot, like I was running away from her. If you had the day that I did, you wouldn't want to be bothered either!
After lots of time under observation, we were released to go home. What a day.
Thanks to all of the visitors who came by to check on us and all of the e-mails and messages. Thanks to the guys and gals at Stanford too. It sorta makes me want to go there (but don't tell mommy I said that).
