Mooo!

All the build up to Halloween and the day is finally here! Yay! I get to wear my cow costume and go trick-or-treating. Last year, I was too small to go trick-or-treating. So this is the first year that I get to go.

After dinner, I got into my cow costume and grabbed my pumpkin so mommy could take me trick-or-treating. Daddy stayed home to give out candy and scare the neighborhood kids.

At first, I didn't quite get it and was actually really hesitant to walk up to people's houses. None of the houses in our neighborhood were scary. Well, except ours. But after a couple of houses, I started to get into it. I really enjoyed taking the candy from the bowls and putting it in my pumpkin. Every now and then people would ask me what a cow says, and I'd respond, "Moo!"

I was having so much fun that when mommy said it was time to go home, I didn't want to. I'd just keep pulling mommy in the opposite direction. Mommy eventually had to pick me up and carry me back home.

Turns out daddy had a great night too. He scared a bunch of older kids who ran away from the house without any treats. Uncle Edric would be proud of daddy! Happy Halloween!

Haunt the Hollow

Matthew invited me and Kyden to join him at Haunt the Hollow. It's an annual event at Happy Hollow Zoo where kids get dressed in costume and go trick-or-treating around the park and zoo. I had so much fun. We rode rides in the morning and played in the playground. After lunch, we were supposed to change into our costumes and go trick-or-treating.

The only problem is that mommy and daddy forgot to bring my costume! Bummer. Mommy wanted to get more mileage out of my Halloween costume. I had to settle for the cow hat that mommy brought. Matthew and Kyden were superheros (Spiderman and Superman, respectively). I guess you could say that I was Ninja Cow or Super Cow!

All the treats were healthy - organic fruit leather and organic rice crispy treats. I liked the grape fruit leather. After trick-or-treating, we fed the goats and played some more. I even saw someone else dressed like a cow!

Thanks for inviting me Matthew!

Red Eggs & Pumpkins

What do red eggs and pumpkins have in common? Nothing! I just had 2 activities that involved both today.

After swim class, mommy, daddy and I attended Sienna's (she's Kyden's little sis) Red Egg and Ginger party at Nijo Castle. The restaurant was super cool because it had a pond with fish in it and a fish tank inside too! I got to see lots of my pals like Kyden, Greyson, Matthew, Abby, and Chloe. I also made a new friend, Kai. We hung out watching the fish and climbing the fence. Mommy and Daddy said that I wasn't supposed to climb it, but how am I supposed to know that? I can't read.

After my nap, we carved pumpkins with Greyson, Uncle Edric and Auntie Char at our house. I didn't like touching the gross, slimy innards of the pumpkin. Belch! Instead I helped scoop out the insides with the scooper. Whenever I tried to grab the carving tool, the grown-ups daddy wouldn't let me actually carve anything. Oh well. I picked out the design for mommy's pumpkin though. Can you guess which pumpkin was carved by whom?

I had so much fun carving pumpkins that I was ready to go trick-or-treating tonight! But everyone kept saying that I had to wait a couple more days. Why's everyone always raining on my parade?

Imagination Parade

Today was the annual Imagination Parade at my daycare. Every homebase dresses up in costumes based on a book. This year we picked my favorite book, The Wheels on the Bus. We all had yellow t-shirts that were labeled with different parts of the bus. I got to be lights. "The lights on the bus go blink, blink, blink."

We paraded around the daycare, which was lots of fun. When I saw mommy, I tried to go greet her. But I got stopped. Daddy says it's because the teachers don't want total chaos or to lose track of us kids. After the parade, all the parents hung out in our homebase and ate pumpkin pie. A few of us - Henry, Beatrix and me - played in the play yard while our parents sat around chatting. We had so much fun that we all decided to go to dinner. What a fun day!

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch today with Greyson, Uncle Ed and Auntie Char today. They had giant inflatable slides and jumpy houses. I walked over to them several times, but mommy kept saying I was too little because the sign said I had to be 3 or older. Isn't that age discrimination?

I still had fun re-arranging all the small pumpkins, running around the hay bales and trying to pick up the bigger pumpkins. Mommy and I tried to find a pumpkin that was bigger than me, but we didn't find any. Oh well. Maybe next year we can find one that's bigger than baby bro/sis.

Thanks for hangin' out with me today, Grey. Looking forward to when you're actually walking so we can go explore together!
