Gliding Away to Sleep

On Friday, mommy's glider finally arrived! After daddy put in a couple of bolts, we were gliding away! Yay! Mommy's taken to the glider quite well. She says that she's getting me used to the motion of the glider so that when I come out, it'll help me calm down and eat! Yay for boobs!

Funny thing is that the gliding puts mommy to sleep too!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!

Can you guess who made it to midnight?

  • Tachi - No
  • Mommy - Just by a hair
  • Daddy - Of course
  • Me - Oh yeah baby! I'm still rockin' out with that Dick Clark guy. That guy's face is really weird...sorta like the Joker!

Mommy fell asleep on the couch but woke up at 11:55...just in time to see the ball drop. She went back to sleep about 30 minutes ago...but not before giving daddy a big, happy new year smooch! (YUCK!)

Daddy thought about taking a picture, but he knew better. Mommy would be mad!

Happy New Year everyone!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone! Thanks for all of the presents! I think I made out pretty good considering I haven't made my debut yet. I think mommy's jealous because I got more presents than she did! Girls are funny that way.

There's just one thing I'm a bit afraid of...that big fat guy in the red suit. He's sort of strange.

Can't wait until next year...when I actually get to experience presents, Santa Claus, presents, Christmas dinner, presents, blue berry pie, and presents!

Tough Week for Daddy

It's been a tough week for daddy.

It all started with a failed eye surgery on Monday to fix daddy's "perforated cornea." You know it's not good when the surgeon comes out and says to mommy, "I'm not sure that what we did was the best thing to do." (Yes he really said that.) That led to a post-op appointment where the doctors basically said, "Oh $hit, we better send him to UCSF where they have real doctors."

This was the first time that I've seen daddy depressed and scared. My eyes are just starting to open up so I'm not really used to seeing yet, but it is pretty cool. I can see how not being able to see would be pretty scary. Daddy likes to be the rock of the family and doesn't want to be a burden on anyone. Now he's very reliant on mommy and feels like he can't protect the family like he used to be able to. I think it's a hard change for him.

Fortunately, the UCSF doctors were great. They rushed daddy into surgery on Thursday and fixed him right up. They un-did everything the first doctor did, grafted in some donor cornea tissue, and closed up the hole. They told mommy that things "went great and looked beautiful." I gave him a high five after he got out of surgery (yes, he felt it). I'm so proud of him.

I've been a bit nervous since mommy's driven up to SF every day for the last six days and this is really the first time she's driven since the accident. Fortunately, she did very well and everyone is safe at home. I think we have one more trip to SF before Christmas.

Daddy's eyes are very light sensitive right now (he wears his sunglasses at night) and he's putting lots of drops in his eyes. I think he's doing really well...but it's a long road to recovery (like two to three months before his vision gets better). I know he's resting up so that he'll be able to see me clearly on my birthday!

Go Sharks!

I'm so excited I'm kicking and punching away!

Auntie Christi and Uncle Mike are giving us their Sharks tickets for tonight's game against the Kings!

Uncle Mike has a conference call. He works too hard. My daddy had a conference call too...but he just rescheduled it after Auntie Christi asked if we wanted the tickets.

Go Sharks! Chomp! Chomp! Chomp!
